benefits of rolfing

"We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” ~ T.S. Elliot

Rolfing® SI deals with discomfort related to things we do in everyday life such as sitting, standing, walking, sleeping, and exercising.  People of all ages and walks of life can benefit from Rolfing® SI.  Over time, our ability to stay vertically balanced is compromised by physical and emotional stress, habitual postures, repetitive movements, injuries, accidents, and illnesses. At first, we may not be aware of tensions and imbalances in our structure; they happen gradually as our collective experiences are expressed through our physical shape.  However, as our tissues compensate for strain patterns and poor movement habits, more energy is required to get through each day and pain or limitations often follow.

Rolfing® SI can lead to profound changes in your body.  A few of the many benefits people have experienced are:

  • Relief from general or chronic stress, tension, or pain (Including headaches, neck and shoulder, back, joint restrictions, hip, knee, ankle problems)
  • Improved flexibility, mobility, coordination and balance
  • Enhanced recovery from injury or trauma
  • Enhanced sense of body awareness
  • Improved posture

Rolfing® SI helps bodies feel stronger, better balanced, healthier and more enjoyable.  It is also an excellent foundation for and complement to yoga, Pilates and other personal wellness practices.
